Job Duties:
• Provide specialized, primary and acute health care on a problem-oriented and emergency basis.
• Perform duties in consultation providing comprehensive and therapeutic health services, integrating the art and science of evidence-based medical practice.
• Examine; diagnose, treat, and research within personal credentials and privileges delineated by the MTF Job Requisition Request 2 Revised August 2025
• Ability to clinically evaluate facility patient care delivery systems and validate or identify barriers to safe and effective patient care.
• Interpret and correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnosis and to establish a working diagnosis.
• Perform comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical examinations. Orders routine laboratory tests, imaging studies (to include x-rays, magnetic resource imaging (MRIs), bone scans, CT scans and/or other diagnostic imaging technology) and can interpret the results (complex imaging studies which may require consultation with radiologist/urologist for definitive interpretation). Make referrals to ancillary specialties, as required.
• Implement response guide therapies, prescribes medication, and disperse drugs, based on the most current evidence-based recommendations.
• Write and dictate electronic medical programs computer entry, including comprehensive history, physical examinations, patient status, treatment, and progress notes on the patient’s chart. Consult and coordinate with multidisciplinary care professionals, agencies, organizations, and other ancillary support systems to assist patients with optimizing their level of function and self-care.
• Conduct consultations, in person and over the phone with physicians, physician assistants, or other health care providers by making recommendations or providing guidance for treatment options, including providing links between Service and outlying clinics.
• Collaborate with physicians regarding patient management, to include evaluating and revising therapeutic plans. Assists in training interns, residents, fellows, providers, nurses, and other healthcare paraprofessionals during their service rotations.
• Complete training to obtain knowledge and maintain competency in the following systems: MHS Genesis, Dragon dictation software, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Comply with regulatory, MTF, and Joint Commission quality inspection/ peer review/ utilization management requirements, and applicable system applications.
• Contractor employees shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established MTF standards, to include, but not limited to: timeliness, accuracy, content, and signature. Contractor employees shall only use DoD approved abbreviations for documentation in the patient health records. (DoDI 6025.13 and DoDM 6055.05)
• Document and close notes in MHS Genesis within three (3) business days of patient encounters.
• Respond to beneficiary messages submitted and received in the MHS Genesis secure portal systems within one (1) business day.
